Researchers from Yale and the West Haven Veterans Affairs Medical Center have published findings in the Journal of Neuroscience describing how changes in the structure of dendritic spines are associated with pain in laboratory rats with diabetes. Dendritic spines are microscopic projections on the receiving branches of nerve calls.
