Ronald Lissak Named President of the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy Board of Directors

The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy (FPN) is proud to announce Ronald Lissak named President of the Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2025. With a distinguished career in the medical device industry and a personal connection to peripheral neuropathy (PN), Ron brings a wealth of experience, dedication, and a clear vision to his new role.

A Leader in Medical Innovation

Ron currently serves as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Positrigo Inc., a cutting-edge company that manufactures specialized Positron Emission Tomography (PET) systems. These systems play a critical role in diagnosing and monitoring Alzheimer’s and other neurological diseases. With over 25 years in the medical device industry, Ron has led initiatives that bridge innovation with patient care, including joint ventures with academic medical institutions during his time as an imaging company owner. Prior to entering the medical device field, Ron practiced as a CPA in New York City and New Jersey.

A commitment to philanthropy

Ron’s leadership extends beyond his professional achievements. Before relocating to Manchester, VT, Ron spent 35 years in New York City, where he was deeply involved in philanthropic work. He served on the boards of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the All Stars Project, Inc., and contributed to numerous fundraising initiatives for organizations such as Montefiore Medical Center and the Lombardi Cancer Center.

A personal journey with peripheral neuropathy

Diagnosed with idiopathic peripheral neuropathy over 20 years ago, Ron has firsthand experience with the challenges of living with PN. “I have been very fortunate to have excellent care from physicians across the country, from Montefiore Medical Center to Dartmouth Hitchcock and the Mayo Clinic,” he shared. “It’s crucial to find a physician who truly understands your disease.”

A dedicated FPN board member

Ron has served on the FPN Board for the past five years. Reflecting on his tenure, he shared, “I’ve been inspired by the commitment of the FPN staff and the broader community. It’s a privilege to be part of an organization that is making a real difference in the lives of those living with PN.”

Vision for the future as board president

Ron steps into the role at a pivotal time for the Foundation. He expressed gratitude to his predecessor, Lou Mazawey, saying, “Lou, thank you. Your dedication to the Foundation will be hard to duplicate. You are an excellent role model for me to follow.”

Looking ahead, Ron’s priorities include expanding FPN’s reach and impact. “With the funds we’ve received this past year, we will be able to expand our initiatives in funded research, lobbying, and patient education through our webinar series. There are 30 million people living with PN, and I hope we can touch more of their lives,” he said.
